The novel "Pollyanna" by cult American writer Eleanor H. Porter (1868—1920) has long ago won the worldwide fame and gained the readers' love. The book was filmed more than once, and after it had been published, in psychology there even appeared the terms "Pollyanna principle" and "Pollyannaism". The reasons of such tremendous success were love of life and optimism irradiated by the main heroine of the novel. Little Pollyanna taught the whole township to look for positive where it would seem impossible to find it. She calls it the "glad game", and each reader, having opened the book, becomes a participant in this marvelous game.

"Just David" is one more novel by a world-famous American writer Eleanor H. Porter (1868—1920), the author of the best-seller about Pollyanna. Unlike "Pol-lyanna" a charming tale about the girl, "Just David" is not less moving and interesting story about the unusual boy with crystal-clear soul, who so splendidly masters the art of playing violin that even the most hard-hearted and insensible people, listening to his music and communicating with him, become more kind-hearted and begin to see beauty around them.
