In the heart of each child, at least once in their lifetime, there arose a dream about great treasures, the more such incalculable as those of the wise King Solomon's Mines. An English writer H. Rider Haggard (1856—1925) must have been such a dreamer. His book "King Solomon's Mines" is a novel filled with the spirit of romance and subtle English humour in which courageous travellers set out for the journey into the bloomy country of Kukuanas getting over scorching sands of the desert and cold rocky slides of the mountains. Each of them has his own goal. And each of them gets what he deserves: some of them get treasures, some of them — the power by descent, and some — fair wages of perpetration.
